Full of surprises and twists that will throw you off your groove, Parks delivers a fast paced and intricately woven Crime Thriller novel, one that’ll cast a spell on the reader. The aura of suspense and constant speculation that the novel was shrouded in, kept me biting my nails in anticipation.
The highlight of the book had to be the multiple POVs and the fact that all the characters had a pretty strong back story. The writing was so lucid that I could imagine myself being a part of the book rather than just reading it. The storyline was delicately woven and was unpredictable. I definitely DID NOT see the ending coming.
The characters were artistically fleshed out, bearing close contact with reality. About a quarter way into the book, I found myself so invested in the characters that I started feeling emotions on their behalf. There were a handful incidences that were too coincidental to be passed on as realistic but then again, that’s why this book is a work of Fiction.
The only thing that deterred me from binge reading this novel is the fact that sometimes it became too tedious. It made me a lose interest for a while but then the urge to know what will happen would come knocking and I’ll be picking up the book again.
Nevertheless, I’d wholeheartedly recommend this book to all the thriller lovers who want to get their brains churning, trying to figure out the unprecedented twists that adorn a classic thriller.
