Conquest Agarta was a book which I picked up not knowing what to expect and boy am I glad I entered head first without anything in mind. Because I enjoyed the book better this way. Starting with the cover of the book, It’s nice and justifies the theme of the novel. Same with the title. I really liked the concept in the book since it was pretty different from the other Science Fiction cum Fantasy books I’ve read.
The world building in the book was flawless and kept me enchanted throughout. The plot gradually builds throughout the course of the story and the suspense and anticipation kept me turning pages like a mad woman. Once I started reading the novel, it was very difficult for me to put it down. The story-line had me intrigued since the very beginning. The book started with a bang and kept that element in it throughout.
Coming to the characters, I think I need to admit that every single character was descriptively penned. Each character had their flaws and that is what made them real. The wordplay was really amazing and the book made me escape reality for a while. Due to my hectic schedule, I had to divide my time and hence, couldn’t read this book in a single setting. That was really torturous because I had a hard time figuring out when to stop reading. The book was jam-packed with thrill, action sequences and mystery.
Long story short, I loved the book. Period.
This book has a story which is bound to stay with the readers for the rest of their lives. I would recommend this book to everyone! Whether they are a teen or an adult, this book is for everyone. After all, Science Fiction cum Fantasy enthralls us all, right?
Ps. I really hope that the author comes out with more books. I would love to read him more!
