“When the full moon rises & the wolfs bane blooms, you will be as cursed as I am.”

If you are a die-hard fan of werewolves & their mates, Cursed is the book for you. It is a well penned Paranormal Thriller novel with an exceptionally basic story line. It outlines the story of a young girl, Sara who is inexplicably drawn to the secluded caretaker of the campsite she and her friends visit for the Halloween weekend. The name of this enigma? Damien. When her feelings grow stronger, Sara starts to notice some weird things about Damien. When the truth comes to light, will she stand by her side, or give up?

I admit, the basic plot of the book was really predictable & basic. There were a handful of characters and the story was set in a single place, an abandoned campsite. Despite the somewhat predictable plot, the one thing that bound the entire novel together, was the language & world building of the author.

The author narrated simple incidences in such a vivid way, that I found my heart pounding every time a suspense scene came up. Despite having a fair idea of how the story line would build, I still couldn’t help anticipating how the author will present the story. He did so with such prowess that it wasn’t even the slightest bit mundane. The author painted the scenes with his words. The way he threads the entire story is really amazing.

The story had a very strong narration and the characters were descriptively penned but I still believe, compared to his second book, this book could’ve been better. The author brings to light, some really heartwarming instances and hence it made for a very entertaining and light read.

I would recommend this book to all the people who wish to read something Paranormal, Halloween-y and engaging.

Until the next time! Adios amigos!
