Fantasy has always been my go-to genre whenever I feel I need some spice in my life. Escaping into a different world when reality gets too much for me to bear, is only possible for me when I read Fantasy novels. Vampires, warlocks, werewolves, witches & other fictitious characters enthral me a lot.
Immortal Divorce Court is one such Fantasy novel that had me hooked since the moment I started reading it. The world building is amazing. I could feel every single line penned by the author coming to life right in front of my eyes.
The cover page is elegant & aptly justifies the theme of the novel. The title of the book gets an A plus from my side. The language of the book was also very fluid & also quite comprehensive. The way the author has penned the story is so captivating that even the thought of putting down the book can trigger a minor panic attack.
The characters are beautifully crafted & Sirius Sinister – the protagonist – is depicted in such a way that it is very difficult to like him. He is just so full of himself & his misogyny, at times, made me want to hit him across his face. Also, there was some sort of locker room humour in the book which might me off putting for some people.
Other than that, the plot is thrilling & unpredictable. The fantasy court proceedings were well penned. The book just passes by in a blur and before you know it, you are at the end of it.
In short, I would recommend this book to anyone who is nursing a broken heart & is looking for a thrilling read which will make them laugh. I cannot wait for the second book in the series which I am sure will be as good as the first one.
