It is no secret that Rahul Saini is a gifted writer. In his new book, Love To Hurt You, he ventured into the previously uncharted territory of eroticism and violence. His book revolves around three characters who are strikingly different from each other – Maya, Sasha, and Garun. The story was intricately woven and entangled the lives of these three protagonists in a weird and erotic way.
The storyline was unique, with some aspects that made me ponder for a while. The fast pace, mixed with a reader-friendly narrative, makes this book a pretty quick read. There are too many twists and turns stuffed into this novel which can sometimes be overwhelming and a little confusing to keep up with.
The author brought all the characters to life and made them bear a resemblance to reality. There was little to no character development. In retrospect, it makes a lot of sense because it takes more than a couple of external factors and incidences for people to change their age-old habits.
This book was a keep-you-on-your-toes type erotic thriller – one that will stay with the reader long after they have finished reading.
