College Romance doesn’t get better than the Off-Campus Series by Elle Kennedy. Dean Di Laurentis is one hot specimen of a man.

SYNOPSIS – THE SCORE

He knows how to score, on and off the ice

Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she’s going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.

It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over

Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.

“I think it takes a certain level of trust to sit next to someone and not feel the pressing urge to babble away.”

MY BOOK REVIEW – ★★★★★

The Briar Campus’s heartthrob Dean Di Laurentis is an incorrigible ladies’ man. This exhibitionist fosters an unexplained aversion to shirts is a man with a heart of gold. On the other hand, Allie is the perfect girl with perfect scores and unbreakable mental reservations which hinder her growth.

Despite the shirtless man – cover on the book, which I usually detest, I can attest that this book is a fresh aberration from the traditional college romances or NA Romances. The plot was the classic good-girl-meets-the-bad-guy, but there was so much more to the book than this. The best thing about Elle Kennedy’s books is that they tackle many real-life problems and seldom rely on fiction alone to carry the reader through.

It is no secret that Kennedy is a gifted writer with a knack for writing some of the best and most popular College Romance books, aka NA Romance, globally. This time, too, she has conjured a book that has enthralled the readers. The characters of both Dean and Allie were exceptionally crafted. Dead, despite hailing from a filthy rich background, is one of the most down-to-Earth heroes in the series. Despite resisting the commitment-phobic hero’s charm, Allie was the sweet counterpart who initially ended up falling hard and deep.

The diction was compelling, and the dialogue delivery was excellent. This book is perfect for you if you’re a fan of NA Romance set in college with alpha male heroes.

There was little uniqueness in the book – the plot was pretty predictable, but the way it was executed made me give this book a perfect 5 stars. Elle Kennedy has done a phenomenal job with her books. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series – The Goal, which is the story of the Dad-figure of the group, Tucker.
