Love Impressions by Sangita is a collection of two short stories, both dealing with the idea of love and loss in their own way. I liked the concept of the novel but, the writing style was not for me. There weren’t any dialogues, just statements. That was a little off-putting.

Both the stories, despite being short managed to capture the attention of the reader. But, holding that attention was the trickier part. The pace was insanely fast. Yes, the stories were supposed to be short, but there was little to no build-up. This ultimately diluted the impact of the stories. Everything happened at once and there was little to no relation to reality which was annoying for me. It was way too slow for my liking.

The characters also seemed way too surreal. They weren’t sketched properly and seemed to exist merely on the pages and not as real life people. In my brutally honest opinion, the book had immense potential. It could have been way better if the ideas had been executed more comprehensively and engagingly.

Unfortunately for me, this book was a miss.
