The cover is beautiful & intriguing enough to capture the reader’s attention. The name of the book sums up the entire concept of the novel. I loved how detailed & lucid the writing style of the author was. The plot was fictional yet somehow, it seemed real enough to me. I could imagine myself being a part of the story. The dialogues were candid which made the book ten times better for me. I loved the fact that the world building turned out to be amazing. The story line was a fresh aberration to the otherwise clichΓ©d trope of Dark Pasts. There were no information dumps and despite the size of the book, I found myself breezing through it.
There were some parts in the book which tickled me pink, especially the interactions between Taylor and Lauren. Taylor was the perfect book boyfriend and a gem of a person. I loved him. Lauren was headstrong and did not take crap from anyone. In short, both the protagonists reserved a special place in my heart & are going to be there for a while now. The side characters were also phenomenally penned. In a nutshell, the characters were carefully crafted & amazingly fleshed out.
The author reflects the very essence of a small town β closeness & proximity β in a very articulate way. I am sure no one writes small town romances as well as Amy Alves does. I would recommend this book for everyone who is looking for a raw & real story which is sure to move you & make you feel every emotion possible. Also, the third book in the Landry Love Series β The Forever Plan is all set to be out in June. Make sure you check it out.
