If you are someone who enjoys Psychological Thrillers and are looking for something enamoring and well-written need to run and get a copy of The New Neighbor from their nearby bookstore. In her novel, Miranda takes the reader on a journey through a close-knit neighborhood whose residents are shaken by a deadly tragedy. However, it seems as if every one of them is hiding a secret; one they’d rather not come to light.

When a new person arrives in the said neighborhood, it seems like an opportunity for a fresh start. Or does it?

What a book! I’ve read my fair share of Psychological thrillers but this one surprised me nonetheless. It was insanely intriguing and drew me in right from the start. Once I started reading, I couldn’t allow myself to stop. When the suspense was unraveled 50% into the book, I thought that the second half will be filled with information dumps and an irrelevant plot. Well, that wasn’t the case.

It was a gritting and poignant tale, one that will keep the readers bouncing at the edge of their seats and chewing their nails in anticipation. The best part about this book was the layered foundation of suspense. The resolution of one part of the story, led to a new crisis coming to light. With myriad threads dangling around and waiting to be tied, I was a little skeptical whether the author would do justice to so many loose ends. She did, though. Really well.

The author manages to get the readers emotionally invested into the story and there were some parts that tugged at my heart strings. The world building was phenomenal and the diction, indisputably was enthralling. It was the characters that did it for me. They came alive right in front of my eyes and that made this book 10 times better.

The only criticism I have is that the ending seemed to come out of nowhere. It could’ve been wrapped up in a little more detailed way. Nonetheless, the story was exhilarating and I enjoyed every minute of this incredibly penned Psychological Thriller.
