“I received this book as an ARC and I am giving an honest review.”

“Victims for Sale” is a gripping crime thriller penned by the author Nish Amarnath. It is a story of a nineteen year old aspiring journalist who gets sucked into the sinister world of sex rackets and drug lords. This book is one of a kind and is sure to leave the reader begging for more.

Sandy Raman is a nineteen year old aspiring journalist working for the BBC in London. She lives as a paying guest in the Sawant’s residence where she develops an attachment with the Mentally challenged daughter, Asha who is fostering a dark secret.

Aiming to uncover the secrets of the Sawant family, Sandy starts up an investigation of her own. When her close friends start getting murdered, Sandy must choose to fight a thriving sex racket if she wants to make it out alive.

The cover of the book is quite catchy and the title is also pretty unique. The cover page is articulately designed and  fits well with the theme of the novel. It also has a small stuffed teddy which holds immense value in the plot of the story.

The story line and the plot was amazing! This book takes the reader on one hell of a ride and the darkness and is a beautifully crafted tale of suspense, horror and a bit of gore. The writing style of the author is compelling yet easy to comprehend. The sentence formation is flawless and the words of the author brought the story to life.

The characters were amazingly penned and seemed real. There wasn’t a single moment where I felt that the storyline dwindled or where I lost interest in the book for even a single chapter. The entire plot is cleverly woven and the climax of the story ties all loose strings leaving nothing to the imagination.

The best part of the story was that it showed the reality of the society in a brutal light and did not shy away from any aspect which, in my opinion, might be disturbing for some readers. However, reading this book gave me chills and showed me the actual hue of the society we all live in.

I would recommend this book for everyone who is looking for a gripping thriller and a story that will remain with you for the rest of your lives. With the time as a constraint, Sandy needs to find her way out of the tangled web of lies and deceit lest she might just end up losing her life and everything that she holds dear…
