Why I’m Crazy About Japan is a Non-fiction book based on the author’s experiences in Japan. Japan is hands down one of the most disciplines and intriguing countries in the world. I’ve always been pretty fascinated by the Japanese culture and the people who live there. The book is penned from the perspective of a middle-class family man and how he faces a plethora of problems when residing in Japan.

I have to admit, the book is as amazing as its title and engaging from the beginning itself. The book is a collection of numerous heartwarming instances based on the author’s personal experiences. The stories range from the Japanese culture and cuisine to the myriad technological advances Japan is famous for.

The writing style of the author is vivid and engaging and keeps the readers rapt. In fact, the writing of the author is highly simplistic so that even kids can understand and join in his fascination with Japan. The funny yet beautiful illustrations scattered  throughout the book add another feather on the hat.

I was in a constant state of ‘Oh my god!’ while reading this book. I didn’t want it to end. 30 stories was way too less for me. The printing is commendable and the cover is like a treat for the eyes.

As the book exemplifies, The Land of The Rising Sun is a beautiful country; one you’d fall in love with, at the very first sight. I am not very keen on nonfiction but this book stole my heart. I would definitely be recommending this book to everyone. Not just because of its heartfelt stories but also because of beautifully crafted caricatures and the engaging writing style.
